The Incarnate Word Academy Falcons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the St. John XXIII Lions at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Incarnate Word Academy will be strutting in after a win while St. John XXIII will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Incarnate Word Academy's game was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 36-28 win over Fort Bend Christian Academy.
Incarnate Word Academy found their leader in underclassman Ava Bocock, who scored 23 points.
Meanwhile, St. John XXIII's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to St. Pius X 46-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John XXIII in their matchups with St. Pius X: they've now lost five in a row.
Incarnate Word Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for St. John XXIII, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything went Incarnate Word Academy's way against St. John XXIII in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Incarnate Word Academy made off with a 58-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Incarnate Word Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
