Norwich Free Academy has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Fitch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Norwich Free Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Griswold.
Meanwhile, Fitch unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Hand by a score of 58-56. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fitch has scored all season.
Fitch's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayvon "JJ" Robinson, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five steals, and Xavier Goode who scored 21 points along with four steals. That was a full 37.5% of Fitch's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Malakhi Sabb was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
Fitch struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Norwich Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fitch, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Norwich Free Academy came up short against Fitch when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 57-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 assists.
