Jackson is 6-1 against Villa Rica since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jackson Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Villa Rica Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully Villa Rica likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Jackson was able to grind out a solid victory over Midtown, taking the game 55-47.
Jackson found their leader in underclassman Kennedie Cooper, who scored 18 points along with seven steals. Cooper is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shakira Gresham, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Villa Rica's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 81-51 loss at the hands of Mays. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Villa Rica has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Jackson's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Villa Rica, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Jackson against Villa Rica in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 79-16 win. With Jackson ahead 55-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
