Upper Perkiomen and Pottsgrove are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Indians will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Upper Perkiomen will be strutting in after a win while Pottsgrove will be coming in after a loss.
Upper Perkiomen took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Norristown a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Long made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jack Rieg was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Zane Saeger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Upper Perkiomen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pottsgrove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pottstown. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly three runs.
Like Upper Perkiomen, Pottsgrove also got a great game from a two-way player: Brandon McGinley. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. McGinley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
McGinley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Philip Barrow, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Charlie Potpinko also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Upper Perkiomen's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7. As for Pottsgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
