The Monroe City Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Shelby Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe City will be strutting in after a win while North Shelby will be coming in after a defeat.
After only 23 points in their last contest, Monroe City made sure to put some points up on the board against Mark Twain on Tuesday. Monroe City came out on top against Mark Twain by a score of 67-60. Monroe City's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, North Shelby's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Westran by a score of 58-56. While losing is never fun, North Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Westran is ranked 171st).
The win got Monroe City back to even at 3-3. As for North Shelby, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
