After each having a week off, the Lakeside Vikings and the Arabia Mountain Rams will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside will be strutting in after a win while Arabia Mountain will be coming in after a defeat.
Lakeside took a loss when they played away from home back in August, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They managed a 25-21 victory over Macon County.
Lakeside can attribute much of their success to Kyle Davis, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 95 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Davis has posted since back in September of 2023.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lakeside's defense and their four sacks. Macon County's QB won't forget Makhi Williams-Lee anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Williams-Lee is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Arabia Mountain lost to Newnan on the road by a 20-6 margin last Friday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Julian Shanks put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 193 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 40 yards.
Lakeside's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Arabia Mountain, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
