Weber and Fremont are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Silverwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weber has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Weber came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Farmington, falling 20-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Phoenix since March 29, 2022.
Raegan Blaisdell and Ari Hillan did some serious damage despite the final result: Blaisdell went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Hillan scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Gabby Montgomery also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Logan on Monday.
Tylee Worrall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Savannah Palmatier was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Saige Steele was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan only managed eight hits.
Fremont is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Weber, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Weber hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Fremont struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Weber suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Fremont when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
