The Durand Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Lena-Winslow Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durand is hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Durand was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Dakota. Durand has struggled against Dakota recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Durand saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rhiannon Robertson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Aurora Hilton, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lena-Winslow's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aquin Catholic.
Durand has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Lena-Winslow, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-7.
Durand was dealt a bruising 55-10 defeat at the hands of Lena-Winslow in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Durand was down 39-2.
