Even though the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions have not done well against the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Aletheia Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gulf Pointe Latin 28-26. Winning may never get old, but Aletheia Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Despite the defeat, Gulf Pointe Latin had strong showings from Coral Hamer, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks, and Kaitlyn Lothringer, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lothringer has scored all season.
Aletheia Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Aletheia Christian Academy will be playing at home against Lighthouse Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lighthouse Baptist Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will head out on the road to square off against Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
