Hammond Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gregory Dotson out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists. Dotson set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Marcus Browder, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Despite the defeat, Lighthouse College Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Derek Scott, Jr scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals. The matchup was Scott, Jr's fourth in a row with at least ten points. DeQuan Jones was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
The win got Hammond Central back to even at 4-4. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Hammond Central will be home for the holidays to greet 21st Century Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. 21st Century Charter is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Lighthouse College Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calumet Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Calumet Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
