Ohio Heritage recap October 22, 2013
Triad extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Heritage this week by beating Southeastern Local, 42-6. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Mechanicsburg took down Catholic Central 56-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kaleb ROMERO threw for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 141 yards in the win.
Chance Frye provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Greeneview topped Northeastern. He completed 4 passes for 47 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 196 yards. Frye's favorite target this week was Mason Gallagher, who caught 3 passes for 34 yards.
Frye was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 196 yards on 22 carries as the Rams beat the Jets. Dalton Caudill also contributed to the rushing game with 83 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Triad's Trent McIntyre and Doug Lowe have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback McIntyre has thrown for 1,555 yards this season, while Lowe has 35 catches for 622 yards. The Indians' Aeryton ERWIN leads the league in rushing yards with 1,063.
The top two teams in Ohio Heritage will face off this week when first place Triad takes on second place West Liberty-Salem.
West Liberty-Salem made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,114 from 4,491. The improvement was largely due to a 21-17 victory over Cedarville last week.
