The Central Mountain Wildcats waltzed into Wednesday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past DuBois 48-45. Given Central Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while DuBois is ranked 33rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Mountain can attribute much of their success to Hunter Hoy, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hoy has scored at least 25% of Central Mountain's points. Caleb Mahoney was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Central Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for DuBois, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Mountain will take on Mifflinburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DuBois, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Johnsonburg at 7:15 p.m.
