The Blountstown Tigers will take on the Cottondale Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Blountstown will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Blountstown stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Port St. Joe for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-21 victory at home. Given Blountstown's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Tiger Sharks are ranked 605th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blountstown found their leader in underclassman Jill Davis, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalynn Copeland, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Cottondale took a serious blow against the Tigers on Tuesday, falling 47-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cottondale in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.
Blountstown pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cottondale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Everything came up roses for Blountstown against the Hornets in their previous matchup on Tuesday as the squad secured a 47-13 victory. With Blountstown ahead 26-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.
