Tyrin Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Marcus Miles, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Despite the loss, Payson still got an impressive performance from Kamika Wesley, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Swasey, who scored eight points.
Payson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Layton Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 18-3. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Layton Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Uintah is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Payson, they will be playing at home against Provo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Provo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
