There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
East Greenwich's 42 - 14 win over West Warwick last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Kevin Licciardi. Licciardi ran for 185 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance landed Licciardi among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Westerly has been an offensive powerhouse for seven straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Providence Country Day/Wheeler/Sanchez Complex as it secured a 57 - 0 win. Westerly did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. With seven consecutive wins, Westerly boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between East Providence (6th in the power rankings) and Bishop Hendricken (1st). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Only one team will win this week, so check back on MaxPreps to find out which team fails to repeat its success.
