Baseball Recap: Lena-Winslow Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Lena-Winslow won the last time they faced Orangeville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Broncos. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lena-Winslow got a massive performance out of Cohen Weegens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Weegens a new career-high. Koby Kearns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Lena-Winslow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orangeville only posted an OBP of .294.

Lena-Winslow is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Orangeville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lena-Winslow will challenge Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Orangeville, they will face off against Amboy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
