Basketball Recap: Middleton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Strawberry Crest

Middleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Strawberry Crest Chargers, falling 89-69. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Middleton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sherrick Oliver, who posted 22 points, and Darrion Marchman, who had 16 points. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Smith, who scored eight points.

Leading Strawberry Crest to victory were Cameron Crowe and Hunter Hall. Crowe went 13 for 22 on his way to 32 points and seven steals, while Hall dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. Jayson Lewis was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Strawberry Crest, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.

Middleton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-56 win against Brandon on the 15th. Strawberry Crest has also already played their next matchup, a 56-52 victory against Alonso on the 15th.
