Lincoln County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon with a sharp 56-36 win on Thursday.
Lincoln County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kalen Bart out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Curtis Rippetoe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lowry came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 67-66 photo finish over South Tahoe. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 20 to 9 on the offensive boards, as Lowry did.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Matthew Casalez and Andre Smith. Casalez had a great game and scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Meanwhile, Smith did his best for the losing side, scoring 21 points.
Lincoln County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Lowry, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
