Cambridge Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Cockrell, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Cockrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jillian Mapes, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and eight steals.
Loss or not, Richard Winn Academy got some senior leadership from Delaney Young and Meagan Brigman. Young scored 12 points, while Brigman. scored ten points.
Cambridge Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Richard Winn Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Cambridge Academy and Laurens Academy will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
