The Bartlett Bulldogs had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Florence on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bartlett also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Florence saw an underclassman step up: Emerson Herring scored 15 points. Herring scored a full 45.5% of Florence's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaylie Hamm was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Bartlett's victory bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bartlett will be home for the holidays to greet Valley Mills at 6:15 p.m. on December 18th. Florence will take on Schulenburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schulenburg is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
