The Oak Grove Grizzlies can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Central Davidson 67-43. With Oak Grove ahead 43-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Oak Grove was led to victory by Kalin Favreau and Trista Charles. Favreau scored 13 points along with three steals, while Charles scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Charles is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Hadley, who scored 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why Central Davidson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Abby Thomas. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Riley Elliott was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Oak Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Central Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Oak Grove will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Montgomery Central at 6:00 p.m. Montgomery Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Oak Grove is ranked 72nd). As for Central Davidson, they will head out on the road to challenge North Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
