The Boonville Pioneers were the 62-56 winner over the Evansville Memorial Tigers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Boonville falling 62-46. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Evansville Memorial is ranked 48th).
Brady Kandul had a dynamite game for Evansville Memorial, scoring 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kandul has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Ellspermann, who scored four points along with six assists and five steals.
Boonville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Evansville Memorial, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Boonville will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 741 points over their last 11 contests. As for Evansville Memorial, Evansville Memorial and Evansville Reitz will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
