It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Constantine Falcons can now relate to. They took a 38-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ovid-Elsie on Saturday. Constantine's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Clayton Fruchey was on fire for Ovid-Elsie: he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Fruchey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tryce Tokar, who threw for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
Constantine's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Ovid-Elsie, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Constantine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ovid-Elsie will face off against Almont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Almont will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
