The Dunbar Crimson Tide will look to defend their home court against the Takoma Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dunbar comes in on six and Takoma Academy on three.
Dunbar is ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Fairmont Heights. Dunbar secured a 64-58 W over Fairmont Heights. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dunbar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gregory Lomax, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isrial Braxton, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Takoma Academy can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Calverton, posting a 86-32 victory at home. Given Takoma Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Calverton is ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dunbar is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Takoma Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
