Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Palmview on Friday and fell 6-5. The Patriots have struggled against the Lobos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.
Evoria Garcia and Natalie Canales stepped up to the plate in a big way. Garcia scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Canales went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Camila Ruiz was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Mission Veterans Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Cigarroa, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cigarroa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .627. However, it's not like Mission Veterans Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
