The Millennium Tigers will challenge the Alhambra Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Corona del Sol hit Millennium with a eight-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 13-3 to the Aztecs. The Tigers have struggled against the Aztecs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Millennium saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Reyes, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Alhambra had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 22-0 shutout. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aliyah Carranza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lillyana Reyes was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Lesly Castaneda was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.
Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
