Basketball Recap: Carver Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Carver played against Leadership Academy on Friday and won via forfeit.

Quinton Stone went supernova for Carver, going 6-for-15 en route to 28 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stone a new career-high in points. Kejuan Bruton was another key player, going 6-for-11 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Carver smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Leadership Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Foster, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Foster has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Ryker, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten assists.

Carver has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Carver wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 89-75 win against Phoenix Academy on the 12th. As for Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-49 defeat against College Prep & Leadership Academy on the 11th.
