The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Clearwater/Orchard will be playing at home against Brady at at 5:00 PM on Thursday. Brady will need to watch out since Clearwater/Orchard have now posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Last Thursday, Clearwater/Orchard put the finishing touches on their 7th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing to the tune of 52-14. No one put up better numbers for Clearwater/Orchard than senior Jacob Long, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Long's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, Brady's four-game streak of losses has finally come to an end. They were the clear victor by a 56-26 margin over Maxwell. Brady were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Clearwater/Orchard to 7-1 and Brady to 4-4. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
