The Northeast Academy Eagles lost against the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northeast Academy took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.
Northeast Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Hayes Hatcher and Arland Davis. Hatcher almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Davis scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Hatcher continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Pungo Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alden Taylor, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ginny Pugh, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Northeast Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Pungo Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.
Northeast Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pungo Christian Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
