After losing to the Corning Cardinals the last time they met, the Orland Trojans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Orland snuck past Corning with a 56-50 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Orland.
Jordan Lister had an outrageously good game as he scored 16 points. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Zach Story, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Corning lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeff Mendros, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Kaidan Raker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Orland's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Corning, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Orland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Corning, they will be playing at home against Gridley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gridley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Corning likes a good challenge.
