The Big Sandy Red Devils just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Livingston Central Cardinals at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Big Sandy and seven for Livingston Central.
On Thursday, Big Sandy lost to Clarksville Christian on the road by a decisive 68-54 margin. Even though they lost, Big Sandy's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Big Sandy might have lost, but man, Cole Pierpoint was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was Pierpoint's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Barnes, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Livingston Central pushed their score all the way to 60 last Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ballard Memorial.
Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Livingston Central, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
