The Temple City Rams will face off against the Glendora Tartans at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Temple City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
While Temple City's victory against Monrovia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Temple City sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Monrovia last Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted against the Wildcats since March 22, 2022.

Mia Oberlander and Melinda Lansford did most of the damage at the plate: Oberlander went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Lansford scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three RBI gave Oberlander a new career-high. Taylor Thomas was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Temple City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Glendora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Claremont on Thursday as Glendora made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tartans, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Gianna Messick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.
On the hitting side, Glendora got a big performance out of Kylie Coleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylee Franks, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Glendora is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. The win got Temple City back to even at 5-5.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Temple City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. However, it's not like Glendora struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Temple City might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Glendora in their previous meeting back in February of 2017. Will Temple City have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
