The Holbrook Roadrunners pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Ridge. While losing is never fun, Holbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Blue Ridge is ranked 21st).
Several Roadrunners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maya Francisco, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Raelle Yazzie, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Holbrook's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-12. As for Blue Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holbrook will take on Show Low at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Show Low focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Blue Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Round Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
