On Friday, La Joya Community didn't have too much trouble with Seton Catholic at home as they won 28-9.
Josaphat Mukendi was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Christian Chavarria made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Seton Catholic to a paltry 218 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to La Joya Community's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Da? vaughn Robinson and his two sacks.
La Joya Community has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. As for Seton Catholic, their loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-8.
La Joya Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seton Catholic also has no future games currently scheduled.
