If The Prairie Central Hawks were riding high off their 48-6 takedown of the North Lawndale Phoenix last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Prairie Central was the victim of a rough 44-20 loss at the hands of Montini Catholic on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Prairie Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Montini Catholic is ranked 45th).
When it comes to explaining why Prairie Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hudson Ault. Despite the final result, he rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Ault is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Prairie Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Montini Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Prairie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montini Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Princeton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Princeton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
