Sacred Heart Prep has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Menlo School Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Sacred Heart Prep really took it to Mountain View for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-17 victory at home. Sacred Heart Prep pushed the score to 36-10 by the end of the third, a deficit Mountain View had little chance of recovering from.
Sacred Heart Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ravu Savali, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and Jack Stevens, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Savali's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Lis, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Menlo School put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Half Moon Bay onto the board and left with a 33-0 win. Considering Menlo School has won three matches by more than 32 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mikey McGrath was his usual excellent self, throwing for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Willis Johnson was in the mix too, providing Menlo School with two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Sacred Heart Prep to 5-4 and Menlo School to 9-0.
Everything came up roses for Sacred Heart Prep against Menlo School in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 34-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
