There's no place like home for the Ross Rams, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Anderson 57-54. The victory was all the more spectacular given Ross' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while Anderson is ranked 145th).
Caden Piening and Andrew Patterson certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Piening scored 23 points along with nine rebounds, while Patterson scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Piening's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trace Jallick, who scored nine points along with five assists.
The win got Ross back to even at 5-5. As for Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ross and Preble Shawnee will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Preble Shawnee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Ross likes a good challenge. Anderson and Western Brown will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Western Brown is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
