The Masuk Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Amistad Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Masuk was able to grind out a solid win over North Haven, taking the game 53-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Masuk.
Meanwhile, Amistad gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past Achievement First, posting a 67-25 victory at home.
Amistad's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fatema Thomas, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Isabella Barral was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven steals.
Masuk pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Amistad, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Masuk strolled past Amistad in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 43-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Masuk since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
