It was a good run, but the Chenango Forks Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waverly. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Chenango Forks was outscored by Waverly in the second.
Joey Tomasso was his usual excellent self, rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 125 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Waverly also got help from Jay Pipher who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.
Chenango Forks' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Waverly, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Chenango Forks does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Waverly will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Adirondack at 12:00 p.m. Adirondack is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
