Basketball Recap: Fort Lupton Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Daniella Aviles and Jasmine Tapia

If Fort Lupton was riding high fresh off their 59-21 takedown of DSST: Conservatory Green last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils lost 54-32 to the Lamar Thunder on Thursday. The Bluedevils were down 42-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Fort Lupton's loss came despite strong showings from Jasmine Tapia and Daniella Aviles. Tapia posted seven points and six rebounds, while Aviles put up seven points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those seven points gave Tapia a new career-high.

Brooklyn Robbins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lamar, going 11 of 22 on her way to 23 points and seven rebounds. Robbins' evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Milenski, who had seven points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Fort Lupton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lamar, their record now sits at 3-1.

Fort Lupton will head out to take on Platte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Lamar will take on Salida in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th at. Lamar's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Salida's offense will have their work cut out for them.
