With a playoff win on the line, Fountain Inn rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Camden Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Fury sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Halle Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Peyton Kinsler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Herring, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Fountain Inn pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Camden, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Coming up, Fountain Inn will face off against Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fury's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. Camden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
