Basketball Recap: Charlestown's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Charlestown has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seymour Owls. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 57-41 to them when the teams met on Tuesday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Charlestown still got an impressive performance from Anthony Fresh, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and six steals. With that strong performance, Fresh is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Keevin Bowman, who posted seven points.

Charlestown's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Seymour, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlestown will challenge Brownstown Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brownstown Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Charlestown likes a good challenge. As for Seymour, they will take on Floyd Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Floyd Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
