Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Peyton Penrose, who scored nine points. Colten Haber was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Twin River fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 53-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Twin River has suffered yet this season.
West Point-Beemer's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Twin River, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
West Point-Beemer and Twin River were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, but West Point-Beemer came up empty-handed after a 47-46 defeat. Can West Point-Beemer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
