This season hasn't been kind to the Linden Patriots, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They were beaten by University Charter 72-45 on Tuesday. Linden was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as University Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
University Charter found their leader in underclassman Zy'Darrius Harris, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Austin, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Linden's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for University Charter, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.
Linden will head out on the road to face off against Hatch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hatch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Linden in Alabama (Hatch is ranked 229th, while Linden is ranked 466th). As for University Charter, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Marengo at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th.
