The McMahon Senators will venture away from home to challenge the Torrington Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, McMahon put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Weston as they made off with an 18-6 victory.
Aly Cassidy made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cassidy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with four runs.

In other batting news, Isabella Spagnuolo was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabby Bisignano, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
McMahon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Torrington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Waterbury Career Academy get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Friday.
Like McMahon, Torrington also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophia Pergola. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Pergola has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Juliano, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Grace Pruchnicki was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Torrington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for McMahon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. McMahon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Torrington struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
