Even though the Reeltown Rebels have not done well against the Lanett Panthers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Reeltown walked away with a 50-42 victory over Lanett. This was payback for Reeltown, who suffered a 49-39 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Reeltown to victory were Finn Henderson and Demetrius Brown. Henderson scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Brown dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Hornsby, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Reeltown's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lanett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reeltown will challenge Horseshoe Bend at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lanett, they will head out on the road to face off against LaFayette at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. LaFayette presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lanett in Alabama (LaFayette is ranked 115th, while Lanett is ranked 305th).
