The Poquoson Islanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 54-41 to Warhill. Poquoson has struggled against the Lions recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Poquoson still got an impressive performance from Dayne Galacgac, who scored 18 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Galacgac, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Poquoson were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Poquoson's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Warhill, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poquoson will take on the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Islanders in Virginia (the Rams are ranked 47th, while the Islanders are ranked 368th). As for Warhill, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Grafton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 263 points over their last four contests.
