If Eagle Ridge Academy hoped to take revenge for the 33-31 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the defeat, Eagle Ridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: Carole Tamburino dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Tamburino hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaz Greenwood, who scored six points along with four steals and two blocks.
St. Mary's Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabel Hernandez out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. Aleena Nauman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Eagle Ridge Academy bumped their record down to 6-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for St. Mary's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Eagle Ridge Academy will head out on the road to face off against Peak to Peak at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Peak to Peak presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eagle Ridge Academy in Colorado (Peak to Peak is ranked 44th, while Eagle Ridge Academy is ranked 214th). As for St. Mary's Academy, they will be playing at home against Arrupe Jesuit at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
