Flat Rock and the Jets are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Flat Rock Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Airport Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Flat Rock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
Even though Flat Rock has not done well against the Trojans recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Flat Rock snuck past the Trojans with a 39-35 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Flat Rock.
Flat Rock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Kopp, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Klein, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Airport's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 61-39 loss at the hands of Riverview. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Airport in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost eight in a row.
Flat Rock has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Airport, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-4.
Flat Rock might still be hurting after the 53-30 loss they got from the Jets in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Flat Rock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
