Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Marion

Marion had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Cole Cougars. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cambry Dojahn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Peavler, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Gianna Ricarte was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Marion's victory bumped their record up to 12-4-3. As for Cole, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13-1.

Coincidentally, Marion and Cole will both be playing Poteet the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
